Celebrating our 60th Anniversary in style - posted 16 November 2009

 

On Friday 13th November 2009 we celebrated in style the 60th Anniversary of the Nottingham Roosevelt Travelling scholarship, and our friendship with America and the Roosevelt family.  

For our Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Dinner we were joined by a number of honoured guests, Haven Roosevelt, Franklin D Roosevelt''s Grandson and our Trust Patron; our host for the evening Councillor Taylor, Chairman of the County Council, The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Packer, Mr Michael Rowan, High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire and a special guest Liza Davis, the American Embassie''s Cultural Attaché.

Over 30 past scholars with at least one representative from every decade - also attended the dinner showing the strength of this unique scholarship as it continues into the future, annually awarding young men and women engaged in trade, commerce or the professions the opportunity to travel to America
